Monitoring and Enhancing the Enabling Environment for Civil Society Project

Funded by the European Union, TUSEV implemented the Monitoring and Enhancing the Enabling Environment for Civil Society Project between May 2018 and March 2020 under our Legal Reform program area.

The Monitoring and Enhancing the Enabling Environment for Civil Society Project, conducted between May 2018 and March 2020, was funded by the European Union. The project aimed to contribute to the development of an enabling legal and financial environment for civil society, and to increase the participation of civil society organizations in policy and decision-making processes. The objectives of the project included raising awareness of legal and financial legislation affecting CSOs, monitoring and improving the enabling environment for civil society, and strengthening cooperation between the public sector and CSOs.

Project activities included:

  • Awareness-raising activities on legal and financial legislation concerning civil society,
  • Activities to monitor the enabling environment for civil society,
  • Establishing a network of lawyers working on freedom of association,
  • Developing resources and tools on civil society engagement and public-CSO cooperation,
  • Implementing and monitoring the Code of Conduct for Public-CSO cooperation,
  • Developing standards and mechanisms to improve public funding.
