The second meeting of the Civil Society Working Group took place in Ankara on 29 September 2026. The meeting was organized within the scope of the Monitoring Freedom of Association-II Project, implemented in partnership with STGM and by EU financial support. These meetings bring together representatives from public institutions, CSOs, and INGOs, providing an effective platform for fostering public-civil society dialogue and jointly addressing current issues related to freedom of association.
The first part of the meeting, we exchanged information and experiences reached from the study visit to Sweden held from June 14–17, 2026, regarding local and central mechanisms established in Sweden to ensure CSO participation in decision-making processes and to secure public financial support to CSOs. We also presented the key findings and policy recommendations of our report, the Law on Collection of Aid and Its Implementation from the Perspective of CSOs’ Resource Mobilization Activities: The Need for Reform, published in May.
The meeting then continued with the Monitoring Freedom of Association – II Project steering committee meeting, concluding with updates and discussions about the project.
