About Us
Program Areas
As TUSEV, we carry out our work for a stronger, more participatory and reputable civil society in Türkiye under four program areas that complement each other in different ways.
Within the scope of Law Reform Program, we examine the legal and financial legislation concerning foundations and associations, monitor the current situation and developments regarding practices, and create informational resources on these topics. We develop policy recommendations and conduct advocacy efforts. Under this program area, we also carry out activities to increase and secure CSOs’ participation in the formation of public policies and legislative processes, and to support public sector and CSOs cooperation from various perspectives. For more information about our Legal Reform Program area, activities, projects, and publications, please visit our Legal Reform Program Area page.
Through our Effective Giving Program, we focus on advancing individual giving in Türkiye and increasing individual donations to CSOs. We aim to inform relevant stakeholders about strategic and effective donation practices to contribute to the sustainability of CSOs through individual and corporate donations. We also prioritize promoting and encouraging different models and mechanisms that will contribute to the philanthropy ecosystem in Türkiye. Additionally, we work to increase the number of grant-making organizations and bring innovative and participatory models of grant-making to the attention of relevant stakeholders. As part of our Civil Society Reputation Program, we strive to ensure that CSOs in Türkiye can work in a more enabling environment by establishing the deserved reputation among various stakeholders. We aim to enhance the reputation of civil society through collaborative efforts with communities within the civil society, providing them with access to current information in their fields of interest, and encouraging their representation and inclusion in international platforms. Through our international partnerships and collaborations, we facilitate national, regional, and international knowledge and experience sharing in the field of civil society, develop new concepts and practices, and add value to the work conducted under other program areas. Within the scope of our Research and Publications Program, we aim to contribute to the visibility of civil society, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and create an enabling environment for its development through the production and sharing of information and data about civil society. We disseminate our publications, the results of our research, and the outputs of events such as meetings and conferences to facilitate the access of our stakeholders to current information, data, and opinions on civil society-related issues. Additionally, through the Civil Society Series, we aim to contribute to the development of the field by translating international resources on civil society into Turkish and promoting dialogue among stakeholders.
