Strengthening Civil Society Development and Civil Society-Public Sector Cooperation in Türkiye Project

The Strengthening Civil Society Development and Civil Society-Public Sector Cooperation in Türkiye Project, funded by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, was implemented by the Third Sector Foundation of Türkiye (TUSEV), the Civil Society Development Center Association (STGM) and Yasama Dair (YADA) Foundation. Between June 2012 and November 2015, TUSEV undertook the project aimed at fostering strong democratic institutions and civil society in Türkiye that support the values of pluralism and European integration. As part of this project, TUSEV focused on legal studies and efforts to enhance collaboration between civil society and the public sector.

Project activities included:

  • Developing a code of conduct for civil society-public sector relations based on agreed principles,
  • Identifying legal barriers to the active participation of civil society and developing recommendations for improvement,
  • Developing a white paper to ensure that civil society-public sector dialogue is included in the institutional strategies of public institutions,
  • Organizing an international conference to discuss CSO-public sector relations in Türkiye within a global framework.
  • Developing a monitoring methodology for civil society-public dialogue.
