We Have Been Elected as an “Enlargement Candidate Country Member to the European Economic and Social Committee

As TUSEV, we have been elected as an “Enlargement Candidate Country Member” (ECM) to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), which plays a significant role in shaping and monitoring European Union policies. Our colleague Güneş Engin will undertake the membership role on behalf of TUSEV. EESC initiated a project by inviting representatives from employer organizations, trade unions, and civil society organizations in candidate countries to become ECMs, making it the first EU institution to offer formal participation opportunities for candidate countries. Of the 131 ECMs selected, 15 are from Türkiye. Their contributions will involve providing feedback on various EU regulations, aiming to enhance civil society participation in shaping EU policies.
