A New Chapter at TUSEV: Güneş Engin Assumes the Role of Secretary General

The Third Sector Foundation of Türkiye (TUSEV), which has been contributing to the development of civil society and philanthropy in Türkiye for more than 30 years, completed its senior management transition as of June 1. Güneş Engin, who has undertaken various strategic responsibilities within TUSEV for many years, assumed the role of Secretary General of our foundation.
Working for many years in line with our foundation’s mission to improve the enabling environment for civil society, Güneş Engin has undertaken significant responsibilities in areas such as improving the legal and financial framework affecting civil society organizations, conducting research and advocacy activities, and advancing international cooperation. Engin, who also actively serves in platforms such as the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Philea’s Legal Affairs Committee, and the Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN), represents efforts to advance civil society in Türkiye on international platforms.
Commenting on the new period of our foundation, TUSEV Secretary General Güneş Engin stated:
“TUSEV has always been a defining reference point in the development of civic space in Türkiye. As someone who has been part of this well-established institution for many years, it is a great responsibility to build on the significant value created to date and carry this valuable legacy into the future.In the new period, by keeping institutional continuity at the center of our work, we are determined to continue our journey together with our competent team and all our stakeholders. We will continue to produce data-driven, innovative, and inclusive solutions that respond to the changing dynamics and needs of civil society, and to support civil society in its development.”
In the new period, our foundation will continue to play a leading role in strengthening the legal and financial framework for civil society, supporting advocacy efforts, expanding civil society networks, and strengthening international cooperation. We will continue our collaboration with all stakeholders, particularly civil society organizations, donors, and public institutions, with the same determination.
