The Fourth Phase of the Philanthropy Infrastructure Development Project (Değişim için Bağış) Project Has Begun
The fourth phase of the Philanthropy Infrastructure Development Project (Değişim için Bağış), which has been carried out under TÜSEV’s Social Investment Program since 2011 with the aim of promoting a culture of philanthropy and charitable giving in Türkiye, and developing an infrastructure that facilitates strategic giving, began in December 2017 with the support of the C.S. Mott Foundation. The project will continue between 2017 and 2019.
In the first three phases of the Philanthropy Infrastructure Development Project (Değişim için Bağış), carried out between 2011 and 2017, various activities were conducted involving individuals, grant-making organizations, companies, and local stakeholders. Numerous resources targeting various audiences were created to increase the flow of funds from individual and institutional donors to civil society organizations. Developments, best practices, and examples from both Türkiye and around the world in the fields of philanthropy and charitable giving were shared, and advocacy efforts were carried out to promote an infrastructure that encourages giving. Within the scope of the Project, which introduced and implemented different donation and giving models, the training program helped individuals working in the fields of philanthropy and charitable giving to enhance their professional skills. The report on Individual Giving and Philanthropy in Türkiye, published in 2016, provided updated data on the state of individual giving in Türkiye and was presented to civil society organizations and other stakeholders in the field of philanthropy at numerous events and meetings. Through the digital campaign under the hashtag #Miktarıdeğilyararı (#BenefitOverAmount), efforts were made to raise awareness of charitable giving and philanthropy.
In the fourth phase of the Değişim için Bağış Project, efforts will continue to promote a culture of philanthropy and charitable giving in Türkiye and to provide an infrastructure that facilitates the growth of strategic giving. Activities will be directed towards individuals, grant-making organizations, companies, and local stakeholders.
