Social Entrepreneurship Seminars Will be Organised

TUSEV, with the support and cooperation of the British Council, is implementing the Social Entrepreneurship Project throughout 2010 with the aim of identifying the opportunities and obstacles facing social enterprises and social entrepreneurship in Türkiye, and to lobby and raise awareness on this issue. The project aims to create a platform for individual entrepreneurs and CSOs with a social mission to contribute positively to social change through entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity, and to promote and encourage the dissemination of social enterprise models among relevant stakeholders. In this context, one-day seminars will be organised for private sector and civil society representatives on Tuesday 21 September 2010 and for public sector representatives on Wednesday 22 September 2010. An expert from the UK will participate in the seminars and share his experience. Turkish-English translation will be provided during the seminars. Interested civil society, private and public sector representatives should send an email to derya@tusev.org.tr with their contact details (name, institution, title, phone, email) and an explanation of why they would like to participate in the seminar by Wednesday 15 September 2010 at the latest. Applications will be evaluated by Friday 17 September.
